Who we are
PainBeacon is an independent directory that helps people find pain-medicine clinics. We are a directory and information service — not a medical provider — and nothing here is medical advice.
What we collect
When you use our “Find your pain specialist” tool, we may collect:
- The city or ZIP you enter and the type of care you select.
- Your name and contact details — only if you choose “connect me” and enter them. This is optional; you can use the directory without providing them.
- Basic technical information your browser sends automatically (such as device/browser type), used to operate and secure the site.
We intentionally do not ask for detailed medical history, diagnoses, or other sensitive health information through this tool.
How we use it
- To help match you with relevant clinics and improve the directory.
- If — and only if — you choose “connect me,” we may share your contact details with a clinic so they can reach out to help you book. If you don’t opt in, we don’t share your contact information for that purpose.
We do not sell detailed personal health information.
Service providers
We use reputable third-party services to run the site — for example, cloud hosting and database providers to store submissions securely, mapping tiles to display clinic locations, and public data sources (including the U.S. federal NPI registry and public business listing information) to build clinic profiles. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.
Your choices
- You can browse the entire directory without submitting any information.
- To request access to, correction of, or deletion of contact details you submitted, email us at [email protected].
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and submitted contact details are stored so that they are not publicly readable. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version. Questions? Email [email protected].
